Improving ChatGPT’s Safeguards > OpenAI has improved how ChatGPT responds to users in distress or engaging in sensitive conversations. Working with over 170 mental-health experts, the company focused on three key areas: psychosis and mania, self-harm and suicide, and emotional reliance on AI.
Beijing Mandates AI Education > Beijing has become the first provincial-level region in China to introduce mandatory AI classes for students in public schools. They are starting with 8 hours per term, but will look to increase this frequency.

Do Humans Like AI Music? > A new study from the University of Edinburgh benchmarked 12 AI music generators (like Suno, Udio, and MusicGen) against real human-made tracks using over 15,000 human preference ratings. While commercial AI models were sometimes rated as highly as professional music.
Bradford Deploys Annie > Bradford Council has launched an AI chatbot called Annie to help residents access adult social care services via WhatsApp, available 24/7 in over 40 languages. The tool connects users to trusted resources and live directories, offering an alternative to phone or in-person support through the council’s Independence Advice Hub
